Junior QA Engineer & Project Coordinator
About the role
Notice what everyone else misses.
Leafy Code International (Pvt) Ltd builds web and mobile applications, ERP systems, and products involving AI, robotics, and connected devices. We are looking for a curious junior who enjoys understanding how things work, finding what could go wrong, and helping a team turn ideas into reliable products.
This is a full-time, on-site role at our Kottawa or Thalawathugoda office. You will work alongside developers, with guidance as you take on more responsibility.
What you will do
- Explore features, test real user journeys, and investigate unexpected behaviour.
- Write clear bug reports with steps, evidence, expected results, and user impact.
- Verify fixes and help maintain regression checks.
- Ask questions about unclear requirements and help write acceptance criteria.
- Keep tasks, decisions, blockers, and follow-ups organised.
- Help prepare clear project updates and communicate risks early.
- Suggest practical improvements to products and the way we work.
QA is the main focus, supported by project coordination. You will work with a project lead on priorities, estimates, and client commitments.
We value careful thinking, useful ideas, reliability, and a willingness to learn from feedback. Show us how you approach a problem; examples from coursework, employment, volunteering, and personal projects all count.
Requirements
Essential
- Ability to work full-time from our Kottawa or Thalawathugoda office on each scheduled working day.
- Basic understanding of software testing and how web or mobile applications work.
- Ability to describe a problem clearly, investigate it, and explain its impact.
- Clear written and spoken English for bug reports, project updates, and client discussions.
- Willingness to ask questions, check assumptions, and revise your approach after feedback.
- Reliable follow-through: keep commitments and raise blockers or delays early.
- Evidence of learning, improving something, or taking responsibility in a project.
Useful advantages
- Practical QA, project coordination, customer support, or software project experience.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools, API testing, SQL, or a task-tracking tool.
- Exposure to automation or scripting.
- Experience using AI tools while checking the accuracy of their output.
We welcome early-career applicants, including fresh graduates and self-taught candidates. A specific degree, certification, public portfolio, or previous job title is not required. Academic and personal project experience is welcome. Applicants who are still studying must be available for the full-time on-site schedule.
